Wordless Wednesday~ State Fair

Don't forget about my Little Miracles Give-away! It is also not too late to enter my Thursday Thirteen~ Blogaversary Contest, entries need to be in by tonight, midnight!
A hot dish is a casserole. A mix of meat, cream of soup, a vegetable, and a starch like rice, noodles, or tatortots. The midwest says hotdish instead of casserole. I know, its weird, but we all know what we are talking about! Maybe its an Ole and Lena thing?

  5. Hotdish is a mix of hamburger and cream of mushroom soup and rice or noodles, maybe a vegetable or two.
They apparently take some and shape it into a ball and batter it, deep fry it, and the put it on a stick so you can eat it and walk at the same time.
My friend said it is great! I loved the sloppy joe on a stick! See my post before this one for the other amazing food on a stick at the fair!

  12. Do you know I've never been to a state fair? We usually take our kids to the County Fair on family night, but I'm sure it doesn't compare. They definitely don't offer hot dish on a stick for example! Maybe we'll try to go this year...

  25. I don't think I've ever heard of the term "hot dish" used instead of casserole. I'm wondering how they get it it to stay on the stick! That would be interesting to try!!!
