A hot dish is a casserole. A mix of meat, cream of soup, a vegetable, and a starch like rice, noodles, or tatortots. The midwest says hotdish instead of casserole. I know, its weird, but we all know what we are talking about! Maybe its an Ole and Lena thing?

Waht is a hot dish on a stick?
Only at the Great Minnesota Get-Together could anyone see such a sight! That's almost as good as the early morning LINE at the "Free SPAM" booth! **shudder**
LOVE IT!
Fried snickers on a stick, yummmmy! *tear* I missed both the KY and the OH state fair this year.
Hotdish is a mix of hamburger and cream of mushroom soup and rice or noodles, maybe a vegetable or two.
They apparently take some and shape it into a ball and batter it, deep fry it, and the put it on a stick so you can eat it and walk at the same time.
My friend said it is great! I loved the sloppy joe on a stick! See my post before this one for the other amazing food on a stick at the fair!
I'm not sure about the hotdish on a stick, not very apealing to me!
I LOVE the Stae Fair!!!!!! Two more days and I am there!:) Not so sure about the hotdish though, I have to stick to the things I always get:)!
Anything on a stick sounds good...eating and walking so very multi-tasking.
brings back so many memories!! Awesome shot.
love it! we didnt make it to the state fair, but we did make it to a little fair in town.
it was so much fun and the corn dogs and funnel cakes were to die for. ;)
After reading what it is.. I'd probably be in line, too!
Do you know I've never been to a state fair? We usually take our kids to the County Fair on family night, but I'm sure it doesn't compare. They definitely don't offer hot dish on a stick for example! Maybe we'll try to go this year...
I'm not eating it. *crossing arms*
Um...eww? Almost as bad as the deep fried lasagne I saw on someone else's blog.
That's just not RIGHT, y'all!
Was it good?
Anything tastes good when you are at a State Fair.
Gotta love food on a stick! Makes me sorry we didn't make it to any fairs this year... Happy WW! :)
Hot dish on a stick is sooo yummy!!
tempting yet funny :)
I love state fairs, however, I don't see how you can have hotdish on a stick.
I live in the midwest and I've never heard of hotdish on a stick. I love food on a stick, there should be more of it! I don't know what Ole and Lena is either LOL
I'm gonna read about those sloppy Joes on a stick though...sounds yummy!
Hot dish on a stick? Funny but no thanks. I don't want any.
Now that's something I've never seen or heard before. I love the State Fair. If it were funnel cake, I'd be the first in line.LOL!
I thought mac-n-cheese on a stick was extreme....guess I was wrong.
Gotta love the state fair!
THANK YOU thank you for your advise about the slumber party! It never occured to me that I should man the windows...yowza!
I appreciate you stopping by, and WOW your kids are cute!
Cheers!
I don't think I've ever heard of the term "hot dish" used instead of casserole. I'm wondering how they get it it to stay on the stick! That would be interesting to try!!!
Happy WW
