Our 7 Qtpies

November 16, 2007

An example of my crazy life

If you read my blog on a regular basis you'll know my brain doesn't always function at top capacity. Who am I kidding? You don't even need to be a regular reader to know that. Not that I am not intelligent, or pretty much always right, I just forget things, and am maybe a little naive.
We had the car issues this morning. And that was ok, even though I did have to work, we got it figured out.
I brought the kids to playschool, which they love, and I love the time of peace and quiet. While they were occupied I needed to run some errands. I was taking Sam to the chiropractor again, which is going great, but I was early, so I stopped at the dollar store, where things are more than a dollar. While there, I saw this great key chain that said "Keys I haven't lost yet." Oh, that's me. I am notorious for losing keys. After the chiropractic visit I came home and put Sam down for his TWO HOUR NAP IN HIS CRIB!!!! (oh, that never happens!)
I went to put the key chain on my keys, but I couldn't find my keys.
Then, later I couldn't find my credit card so I could run some errands that needed to be run. And then I forgot to iron Drew's clothes that I was supposed to drop off at the high school when I picked up the kids, so I had to quick drive home and iron them and run back. Thankfully I had left early enough.
Ok, then. I don't know that there is a point to this post. Other than my brain is not working. And I have a migraine on top of it. One of those that you can barely see straight or think straight. Even on vicodin. (don't worry, I can type without eyesight, I'm good like that.)

hope tomorrow is better for you
and if Sam has another 2 hour nap that would be even better

It's just the universe righting itself to make up for Sam's long nap.

I'm the same way. I lose everything. When I put my kids in their car seats they know that I'll be running back into the house for things at least 4 more times.

Hey Lisa,
Are you sure we're not related somehow?? I lose keys and forget things all the time too. But, you knew that.

We missed you at karaoke tonight, hope your headache went away. I had lots of coffee tonight...that's why I'm writing this at 3:43AM

You sound like you could use more than a couple of hours of quiet by yourself, just to collect your thoughts...and keys...and camera...and whatever else. (giggle!) I have days kind of like that too, where even the most basic tasks and items get forgotten if they aren't written down or glued to my forehead. I wish I had a solution for you, but it only seems to get worse as time goes on. I often wonder where all of my college smarts and memory went after I had kids and took up being a stay-at-home mom. It's like someone asked me to check them at the door and then didn't give them back.
