Polar opposites

Do you know how you can have polar opposite feelings at the same time? I am very happy today and very sad today.
My mom is going to FL with her husband and the grandkids they are raising. This is the sad news. Her husband is a big narcissistic butt hole, and she is going to spend the whole big Dis vacation being told how stupid and lazy and ignorant she is. She could have refused to go and stayed home and had a peaceful, quiet week alone.
I am happy because my dad called me this morning. (oh, weird, the polar opposites are about my parents!) Oh, my dad is not my mom's narcissistic husband. Anyways, after dad chewed me out for being in bed at 8am he told me he had talked to his sister about me because I was never given anything from either my grandma or grandpa. My cousin Kent and my dad convinced Aunt Karen that I should get grandma's nativity set! Oh my goodness, I started crying! I don't have a nativity set, and was going to look for one this year.
The only thing I have had from my grandparents was this Christmas ornament that they gave me and my grandpa wrote on the back for me. I cherished that ornament. I cry every year taking it out. Then, two years ago it was broke. I keep the pieces on my desk and cry when I see them. They may be gone now because the kids have cleaned the desk and maybe threw them away. I would never have thrown them, so that is probably good.

On other news, Sam did a second chiropractic yesterday. And most definitely did NOT sleep through the night. That was a bad night. Or I noticed it more because I had a migraine. His ear infection is getting better without more antibiotics, I think from the chiropractic. Sam does eat a ton better now, all three meals and snacks every day. Maybe he will start gaining weight.
And Drew directed a play last night. One that he didn't tell us about. OK, we KNEW he was directing a play for drama class, but we didn't know they were performing it for the community. Seriously, he didn't tell us. He realized AT the play last night that he hadn't told us. Lovely, huh?

Wow, that is a lot going on. How special you will have your grandparent's nativity. I love treasured items passed down from family to family.

I hope your moms vacation turns out better than you think it will. I will say a prayer for her.

Blessings,
Julie

Sounds like you need a big hug, in general, but I'm glad you're keeping a chipper attitude and have had some blessings.
