For Young Men Only~ A book review

I am a big fan of the Only series of books by Shaunti Feldham. She has written and co-written the books, For Men Only, For Women Only and For Parents Only (a MUST-read).
She helped her husband, Jeff Feldham, and Eric Rice write the newest Only book, For Young Men Only. You guessed it, for the teenage men in our lives!

I had high hopes my sons would be interested in the book. I read through parts of the book with a group of boys from 13 to 20 years old, all Christians. The 13yo was too embarrassed to admit interest but stayed, the 15 yo wants to read it further, the 19yo listened and agreed with the book, and the 20yo just didn't think men actually thought like that. Only 1 in 4 didn't find it was applicable.
The book was really interesting to me. I liked the subjects it touched on, especially helping guys figure out girls' moods and what to do about it. I am always trying to get my boys to be sensitive to that so their wives can stand them. I was a little disappointed in the amount of sex talk, however, it was always with the goal that girls will be more appreciative of them if they protect the relationship from going to far. The negative aspects of a relationship after having sex are talked about, too.
I do think this is a great book for teen boys, especially if you hit them between 14 and 16 years of age. I thought it brought about wonderful communication opportunities for us as a family.
