It seems a contradiction, but we decided that if Donnie were laid off we would go to Texas and see Drew graduate basic training. So, we are going! We are taking just the little two kids with us. Donnie's dad will stay with the big kids, they are self-sufficient, but then there is an adult in the house.
Donnie got his vacation time cashed out, so we have enough to make the trip without touching the severance package.
I am even thinking of going to visit our reversal doctor and introducing him to our two reversal miracles. That would be fun, maybe take him to lunch to thank him for being a servant of God.
We also will have the opportunity to see a former friend from when we lived in Germany. He shared our very first Thanksgiving as a married couple with us. The year that Donnie helped cook. Now he is only allowed to make the turkey.
A.G. took the first bite of the stuffing that day. When he turned all red and started choking we were pretty concerned! Donnie had tried a recipe on the back of the box. It said to add 2 tsp of orange peel. Most people use the dried stuff, but we didn't have that, so Donnie shredded orange peel. But he added 2 CUPS. It was a bitter, bitter stuffing. I will never forget it. I bet A.G. hasn't forgotten it, either.

Very cool! I think it's a great idea. It will be a fun trip for you four.
Like I said, I wasn't able to be there for either of my kids' graduations from basic, and always felt bad about that. When Jeremy graduated, Molly was only 7 or 8 months old, so that made it difficult, and I couldn't afford it either time anyway. Thankfully, Jessica's g & g didn't live too far away from SAT, so they were able to go for her. They gave me a tape of the ceremony, that you can see her for a split second on as she marches by.
I say go for it...it will be lots of fun...
I have the dual-screen DVD player for you to borrow...makes travelling with young'ns much easier!
Perfect! I'm so happy for you that you'll be able to see Drew graduate. And what a boost that will be for him, too.
How funny about the stuffing!!
I didn't know your last 2 were reversal babies, I have 2 also now bakin the 3rd.
Where and when were you in Germany? My oldest was born in Germany. I sure miss it sometimes.
Hmm....orange stuffing, eh? EWW!
That's great that you're able to manage going to Drew's graduation, he'll love it! I've often thought about how our reversal doc would feel about meeting the FOUR little ones he had a hand in helping God bring into the world too. How neat!
I hope you guys have a super time! Great idea to see your reversal Doc. That is a cool idea!
