Christmas Banquet~ Picture overload!

Every year our church has an Old Fashioned Christmas banquet. People host a table and decorate it any way they want. The food is always great and the entertainment is fun. But the friends are the best!

Donnie and I have been hosting for about 4 years now. We always fight over how to decorate the table. I want fancy-schmancy and he wants fun and/or manly. Last year we were visiting with our friends Dan and Jody and they were hosting, too. We ended up deciding to co-host two tables. The girls and the guys. It was a hit! The guys had a cornish game hen literally roasting over a fire on their table. We had gorgeous gold chargers with gold rimmed china.

It was so much fun that we did it again this year!
Jody and I did a winter wonderland theme this year with snowflakes and a snow scene in a covered cake plate.
It was a fun theme and Jody went over the top in filling gift bags with lots of candy and Tastefully Simple samples that are super delish! MMMM!
We had all the girls sit with us during the meal so we could have fun talking to each other.
Donnie and Dan's table was a man's theme, again. They used the same great dishes with bucks on them and birch wood looking napkins. But he went with a hunting theme. He bought some hunting toys and has men on deer stands bow hunting, a guy on a 4 wheeler, and lots of animals to hunt.

Jody wrapped up hand warmers and beef jerky in duct tape ribbons for their gifts, LOL! It was perfect and just funny.

All the guys sat there, but since Dan was out of town, Kaytlin was able to sit there.

Kaytlin loves going to the banquet. It has great food, and she loves great food! I let her go last year, too. But she has to invite a guy, since we have the whole guy/girl theme going. This year she invited her friend Peter.

Everyone enjoys walking around from table to table enjoying the creative decorations. This is Pastor Chad and his wife. He is the youth pastor. And the guy I am frequently telling not to read certain posts.

These are our neighbors, Eric and Padma (pronounced Pod ma) and our friend Lori and Dave.

Both couples go to the same church as we go to.

Here are some of the girls. My friends Jody, Jeannie and Padma.
After eating, we switched the tables up so we could sit with our spouses for the entertainment portion. (the part where you can't sit and talk)
I was at the men's table and my close friends all ended up at the women's table with their hubbies, sort of. (Jody's hubby was out of town and Anna

And this side of the table is Sarah, Lori and Anna.
When we switched tables to sit with our spouses I looked over at the girls table and I was just overwhelmed.
My four of my five closest friends in the entire world were all sitting at that table. Sarah, Jody, Jeannie and Anna. That was better than Christmas.

Thank you so much for having us. It really cheered me up to be there with all of you. The next day I felt much better. Now I seem almost normal again.
Lord Bless You,
Padma
