Love Your Veggies!

Do you remember when you were a kid and had to eat your veggies? Eww! I hated veggies. I used to hide my cooked carrots in this carpeting that went all the way up our breakfast bar. Or my brother and I would hide them in the feet of our pajamas.
As I grew older I began to like veggies, and even love some of them. Still not a huge fan of cooked carrots, though.

I am on the lookout for recipes that will get my kids to eat their veggies.
Hidden Valley Ranch has a website called Love Your Veggies. They have many recipes to try on your children, like these cute veggie bagels pictured here. They also have a page of downloadable activities to get kids interested in veggies.

Inspired by a study which found that children consumed 23 percent more vegetables when paired with a moderate amount of ranch dressing, the makers of Hidden Valley® Salad Dressings created the Love Your Veggies™ campaign as a way to help parents and educators get children eating and enjoying their vegetables.
Hidden Valley Ranch has partnered with Chef Art Smith to identify, help and reward 10 moms who are vegetable advocates. They are holding a Search For Veggie Champions Contest.
Ten women will be chosen to join Chef Smith and other experts at a 2 day retreat aimed at learning and sharing tips and tools on planting, harvesting, cooking and eating vegetables with children. These moms will also receive $5,000 to start or maintain a community vegetable garden in their hometown.
You can enter through January 15, 2009.

Prize Package:

4. Dinner at Chef Smith’s Chicago restaurant, Table Fifty-Two.
