The Ultimate Party Meatball!

Mom Central hooked me up to try out the Ultimate Party Meatball.

Meatballs are tricky, in my opinion. I hate making them myself because I can't keep them round, but that is another story. Finding a great tasting sauce is what is difficult. I don't like most barbecue sauces on meatballs. When I saw that this one was not made with barbecue sauce I jumped at the chance to find a great, and EASY recipe.
So, Heinz and Ocean Spray teamed up and sent me a can of jellied cranberry sauce and a jar of Chili sauce to pair with meatballs.
Here is the recipe:

1 16-ounce can Ocean Spray® Jellied Cranberry Sauce
1 12-ounce bottle
Heinz® Chili Sauce
1 2-pound bag frozen, pre-cooked, cocktail-size meatballs

Combine sauces in a large saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring
until smooth. Add meatballs. Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until meatballs
are heated through, stirring occasionally.

Makes 30 appetizer servings.

Slow cooker Preparation: Place meatballs in a slow cooker. Combine
sauces and pour over meatballs. Cover and cook 4 hours on HIGH.

We had Donnie's family over last night so I cooked up a double batch. That is FOUR POUNDS of meatballs, in case you didn't figure that out. 7 adults, 7 kids who ate, and TONS of other foods; but we only had 8 meatballs left at the end of the evening.
The meatballs were very good. I wouldn't say they were so incredibly good that you couldn't stop eating them, but they were very good. Everyone liked them, so it was a good fit for all taste buds. The chili sauce was not spicy, the cranberry sauce was not tart. It made a great combination. I would never have thought to pair Heinz and Ocean Spray, but this recipe will be used many times in our family.
