The Love Dare, that is.
The Love Dare by Stephen Kendrick and Alex Kendrick is based off the book used in the Fireproof movie. The book brings you through 40 days of dares to change your marriage, good or bad marriages.
The book is laid out each day with 3 elements:
1. a unique aspect of love is discussed.
2. a specific dare is issued for that day. Some are easy, some challenging.
3. there is a journal space to log what you do and learn and how your spouse responds.
What I love about the book (besides the fact that my husband secretly bought it) is that it explains about love being a decision, a choice that you actively make. You don't follow your heart, as the world proudly proclaims, you need to LEAD your heart. If you are following your heart, that means someone else is leading it. The Bible says "the heart is more deceitful than all else" Jeremiah 17:9, and it will always pursue that which feels right at the moment.
This book dares you to think differently and to lead your heart to what you know is right, not what feels good for the moment.

We just had our Valentine's Banquet and showed this movie. We were very impressed. Great message along with good cinematography--Christian fimmaking has come a long way.

Lisa, Brian and I just watched Fireproof FINALLY last Saturday night and thought it was great. I thought, too, that we should get the Love Dare book and try it out. Sounds like a great idea! And congrats on winning the sponsorship!
