Monday night someone broke a glass jar that holds a nice, big candle. It is the rare lilac scented candle, and it was fairly new, so I didn't want to lose it. Hope-Anne had found it in the bathroom that she was cleaning and had some tiny pieces of glass in her hand so we asked Cody to pick the glass of the candle. He was thrilled, we weren't forcing it, lol.
Well, you can imagine what happened, right?
Yes, he sliced two very big, slightly deep, gouges off the top of two of his knuckles. So much so that I won't even make him wash dishes, it is bad.
Not so bad that he won't go swimming, though.
After going to our former pastor's funeral today, Cody, the die-hard swimmer, asked to be dropped off so he could finish up practice. (Devon stayed to eat pie, which is forbidden during swim season)
When Cody came home tonight, Donnie brought him up to my office and said "Look what happened to your son."
He got his eye gouged out now, too. He is going to have quite the shiner tomorrow.
OH, you want to know how that happened? He was swimming and another kid, by chance a surgeon's son, was swimming the wrong direction and Cody tried to get out of the way, but too late. The kid hit his goggles and it was pretty bad. Lots of blood. Probably not as much as from his fingers, though. He came home with a big bag of ice.
2 people think my kids are qtpies:
Beat up day for Cody! Poor guy! Glad he is OK, for the most part. A head on collision could have been a whole lot worse! Hope his hand and eye heals!
