It is difficult to buy healthy food because junk food is cheaper and stretches farther. But eating hamburger helper and hotdogs takes a toll on the waistline.
Being fit and healthy doesn't have to be expensive. Members have achieved real, lasting change—all without spending a dime on pre-packaged foods or pricey workout programs—by bringing the four areas of life (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual) into a healthy balance.
This program used to be called First Place, and I was part of a group that was doing the program. It was great! We met as a group to hold each other accountable to the program, to uplift each other, pray for each other and be encouraged.
There are scripture verses to learn each week, and a CD of the verses put to song that is so handy and fun.
You also write down everything you eat, trying to hit all the food groups and get your water intake to a good level. I love the accountability of writing it down. I learn to eat better and I realized that I was eating way more snacks than I thought.
You can look on the website to find a group near you, or start a group. I also recommend reading what they have to say about the four sided person, very helpful!
New for 2009, First Place 4 Health is also introducing a brand new fitness
kit that includes everything you need to customize your own exercise plan, at a
fraction of the cost of a gym membership. The contents of the kit include
the First Place 4 Health 30-Minute Fitness DVD, which combines cardio, strength,
and stretching exercises for all fitness levels from beginner to advanced and a
handy pedometer for keeping track of every step toward your fitness goal.
The reusable eight-ounce water bottle slashes the cost of bottled water and
makes proper hydration a snap. The kit also contains a flexible exercise
band that will maximize resistance for every movement in a workout and an
official First Place 4 Health towel to use when the work is done.
Check out First Place 4 Health or Regal Books for more information.
