Minnesota bans BPA in children's products

Minnesota recently became the first state to ban BPA, bisphenol-A, from all products gear for children age 3 and under becoming effective January 1, 2010. A couple of cities have banned BPA, and Minnesota's decision has paved the way for other states to ban the dangerous chemical that mimics estrogen and can harm young children.

Many manufacturers of children's' products and retailers have stopped selling products with BPA in them, including Walmart. My favorite place to learn about BPA and harmful chemicals in children's products is The Soft Landing blog and The Soft Landing store. Alicia Voorhies does all the research for concerned parents. In an attempt to have safe products for her children and nephews, The Soft Landing turned into a family business finding and selling PBA, phalate and lead-free products for children.
