Our 7 Qtpies

November 14, 2007

Let us be known from here on out as

The Car Killers.

That's us. I don't believe in people being able to put a curse on us or anything like that, or bad luck following someone. But it is beginning to look suspicious.
Donnie has paranoid personality disorder, and I think maybe it isn't because he is crazy, but because someone is out to get us for real!
The evidence:
January 2007, Superbowl Sunday, to be exact, Van dies, needs new engine. (fixed in May??)
May 2007 Geo doesn't start, plus it shakes when it does start, so we leave it alone.
August 2007, Donnie's car has issues of major proportions. ($1200+)
September 2007 Geo isn't drivable, shakes really, really bad going over 30mph.
September 2007 Kids buy new car, only starts when it feels like it. Which is never when we need it.
October 2007 Van dies, again. Needs another new engine.

At this point, October, only Donnie's car works on a regular basis. So we borrow Donnie's parents car pretty much daily.

November 2007 In-laws car starts making brake noises. We bring it in to replace the brakes as a gift to them. Umm, way, way worse than brakes, over $1000 of work needed.

November 2007- One car for 11 people, two families, to deal with. That includes 4 people with jobs. So last night, Donnie worked hard and got the Geo and the kids Cavalier working. Drove the van, but it didn't miraculously get healed. So, everything did run last night.
This morning. Nothing works except Donnie's work car. Nothing. They won't even start, including the in-laws car that only has issues in the brakes area.

Still think Donnie is paranoid? Or is someone out to get us?

We are working on the Geo this morning, hopefully just needs a new battery, the shaking turned out to be a tire, of all things! I hope it works because I have to pick up Trinity from school in 1/2 an hour, bring mom-in-law to the store, get Trina back to school and Sam to the chiropractor and get Trinity back home, and then Drew has to drive to work.

OH Lisa...you guys sure do have the car issues going on. I wish I was more financially wealthy to help with repairs...or just buy you a new car! I will pray that God will just shine through all this and the car problems will be taken care of. Satan is gleaming, but I will pray God distorts his face.

I hope your day is good.

I'm sorry that y'all are having such a bad time with vehicles.

We have three, and one of them has a dead air conditioner, which is almost as critical as having an engine in Florida.

I'll be praying for you in this situation. We had lots of car issues years ago when we lived in Dallas, and when I think back on those years I can't help but shutter at the remembrance of those stupid cars and all the money we shelled out just to try to keep them running. It was a nightmare.

I agree that I don't believe in curses, but you gotta wonder if there isn't someone with a big car-shaped voodoo doll and some long pins that's out to get you. =)
