I opened up the book "Baby Happy Baby Sad" to read to Sam and each open page shows a picture of a happy baby or a sad baby, one on each page. Like a happy baby with an ice cream cone and a sad baby with the ice cream on the floor. Sam was loving it, and he is recognizing the emotions and why the baby is happy or sad. It is really neat to see him grasping those concepts.

Trinity's new book is "Higher! Higher!" It is so colorful and fun to look at, we just love the pictures. But the book is also such an easy read with some subtle humor thrown in. There are There are less than 10 words in the entire book, which makes reading easy, and it encourages kids to learn words by sight. After a couple of reads Trinity can "read" it back to us.

Leslie Patricelli is a very creative author, and I think she knows kids pretty well, judging by the books. I highly recommend these two books to anyone with toddlers and preschoolers, and I am keeping my eye out for more books by Leslie Patricelli.
