I took this game to Ladies Night Out on Friday for a test run. I think there were 8 of us playing it.
Depending on the amount of players, you each get a certain amount of links to start with. At 8 players we each started with 4 links.
The Timer person holds the obnoxious horn and reads the card. The card has a compound word on it, like Catfish. The next person uses one of those words and makes a new word or phrase, such as fish sticks. The next person takes those words and comes up with another new word or phrase, such as stick figure, then the next person, figure skater. On and on it goes until someone can't get a phrase within 5 seconds. The Timer person honks the horn when they time is up. (and then everyone jumps through the ceiling)
If you lose you put a link in the bowl. The game ends when someone runs out of links.
This was a pretty fun game to play. We played a few rounds and didn't want to stop. But we had other games we needed to try out, too.
This is a great adult game, but I think you can play this with even some younger children, maybe 8 and up, but maybe give some extra time, like 10-15 seconds.
My only dislike about this game was the bulb on the horn made my hand smell funny. A bell might be a better choice.
You can pick this up in some stores, check on their site for stores near you that carry it. Here in Minnesota, Games by James would be the place to shop.
1 people think my kids are qtpies:
That was a fun game, but my brain wasn't very functional that night...well, it isn't very functional most times lately! Hopefully I will regain that back in a month!
