The translation is written with today's language for today's people. If you have strict Biblical sensibilities and couldn't take it if, say, God used the word "sex," then this is not for you.
However, I think it is very good for sharing with people who do not yet understand the Bible and would be aided with just reading as though there were a conversation taking place, but with commentary thrown in to explain the significance of things.
I like the explanations that are interspersed throughout the scriptures. I thought it was interesting how the book of Matthew was written specifically to convince the Jews of Jesus being the Messiah, catering to the things that are important to them, like lineage and fulfilling prophesy.
Donnie really enjoyed the translation, too. I brought it with to church one day and he used it to look up the verses the pastor was reading. He got caught up in the translation and kept reading long past the relevant scripture to the sermon!
Here is a commentary found in the book of Hebrews:
Here is God's Son -Creator- Sustainer- Great High Priest. What made Jesus
perfect for the task was something that could only happen on earth. He had to
enter our fallen world, take on our feeble flesh, and suffer a violent death at
the hands of an angry mob. Suffering is what ultimately made Jesus right for
what we needed. What happened next was nothing short of brilliant!
The scriptures themselves are easily read and understood. Perfect to give to that person you know who is struggling with becoming a Christian. Or for you, if you would just like to read through the Scriptures and understand it easily.
Warning, this is not for King James Only type of strictness. And I would know, I am a King James Only type of person. However, for just the enjoyment of reading, I like this translation. But for study and memorization, I prefer King James.
I have a copy of The Voice to give away.
I will ship to the US, APO, FPO and Canada.
The Giveaway will end December 12.
Just let me know you would like to be entered in the comments. I may go by the comment that touches me most, or where the Spirit leads me to give the book to, or random drawing. We'll see what happens!

I would love this for my husband- ok me too. I would love to be able to easily understand parts of the bible without having to search all over to understand what they mean, heck I am older and should know but I want to be able to understand what it means and what it says without having to do a 5 hour search. My husband would love this too, becuas he is the same way, we are educated people- but not PHDs and have questions and do not know it all and yearn to learn and grow. mrs.mommyyatgmaildotcom
