Our 7 Qtpies

February 11, 2008

Can I give you a boost?

This giveaway is now closed! The Winner will be announced shortly, thank you all for entering.

I have this little problem. I have little kids. That isn't the problem. The problem is that in order to reach the table they need booster seats. I don't have room for high chairs, either.
So, I have two booster seats. It works out well for the kids to be able to reach the table and eat with us.
They have to be strapped to the chairs for safety, of course, which makes them difficult to move. And sometimes I want to move them.
When we have friends over to play games or eat we need to remove the boosters for extra chairs. Do you know why that is a problem? Do you??

Well, take a look at what is inside and under the seat. This was actually a pretty good day. Sometimes liquid gets spilled and then all those crumbs turn to cement on my chair.
Cement that I have to scrap off in order for my friends to have somewhere to sit. That is gross, difficult to clean and embarassing!
Sure, I could take it apart and clean it every day, but have you seen my header? I have 7 kids, I don't have time for that.

I have seen reports of a cure for this problem. But I just couldn't believe it could be so wonderful. I had to test it for myself. Do you see something different about my dining room? Something besides the large amount of chairs around the table? Or the huge sheet of paper taped to the window by the kids?

Do you see that one chair is taller than the others? Look under the chair. That is a Kaboost. That invention is saving me from the attack of the crumbs!
The Kaboost easily attaches to almost any chair. And it folds up much smaller than a booster seat or high chair, so you can store it in a cupboard or closet so easily.
The Kaboost also has skid resistant bottoms, and your child can't push the table and go sliding. This is a very nice feature, but I think they could be a little less resistant because it is difficult to push the child in close to the table.
The Kaboost is rated to hold over 300 pounds. We tested that out. I sat on my husband's lap while he was sitting on the chair, and, well, together we are over 300 pounds. Neigher of us could slid the chair back while sitting on it. It is secure.

The Kaboost is also grows with your child. There are two heights on the Kaboost. Just flip it over and it is higher or lower.
We have Sam on the higher setting. He feels like a big boy sitting at the table on a chair just like the rest of us. He does act better, but we also can't strap him in, so there is good and bad with that, lol. Trinity loves it, she enjoys being able to sit with us normally and to be able to reach easily.
Kaboost comes in three colors: green, chocolate and natural. We chose chocolate to blend well in our formal dining room.
Kaboost would like to give one of my readers a Kaboost!

So can I give you a boost? I can give one of you lucky readers a boost up.
Just leave a comment telling my what a Kaboost would do for you. What benefit would you gain from one? (if you don't leave an answer you will not be qualified)
You may leave an anonymous comment and find out who wins at Fetched. Just make sure you have a unique nickname so there is no confusion!
Contest ends Sunday, February 17.
US, Canada and Military are included.

Hello, I am at the age where I have very young nieces and nephews. I also have one of each great-niece and great-nephew. How wonderful the Kaboost would be to have her at our home for when they come for visits!~ Thanks very much.....Cindi

I would love one of these for my daughter so she could more easily sit with us at the table, she would be higher up so she could easily reach things on the table if needed, and would be better situated to eat at the table. Thanks for the entry!

I have three little kiddies at the moment. They are 4, 22 months, and 9 months. Those last two, the boys, are both in the "high chair" phase. I don't have a tiny kitchen, but I also don't have room for TWO high chairs. And eating together for dinner is a must in my family. So, we solved the problem previously the same way you did - the booster seat. And I hate it, for all the same reasons you do. I would LOVE a Kaboost. My wants-to-be-way-independant son would LOVE a Kaboost. My younger son who wants a seat at family dinner would LOVE a Kaboost for his older brother. My food-cemented-on chairs would LOVE a Kaboost.
A Kaboost would make me happy. Especially a free one.

This would be great for me so that I don't have to look at the booster seat! Instead the kaboost blends right in.

Several reasons why this would be great. One my son is too big for his booster seat, but too short to really sit at the table. Another is that I hate trying to clean out all the grooves and hiding places in our booster seat. Finally I need the booster seat for my littlest one!

I would love this because we only have a small table, with only 4 chairs. This way, we could keep the chair without a nasty booster seat attached to it. So when adults come over, we can offer them a chair not littered with crushed up cereal all over it. This is just a great invention!

Anonymous said...

OK this is something I have wanted for a while. I even won one a couple of weeks back until the blog owner found out that I lived in Canada. (I was sure I checked.) I really want to move our high chair into storage so we can take back a bit of space in our tiny Vancouver apartment. I love the lime green as well. :)

This is absolutely awesome. I have never seen one of these. Jake hates his booster seat so we are still using the huge high chair which we do not have room for either. His booster seat is a bit too small for him so he's not much of a fan...remember he was a 10lb hoss cat at birth! :) We'd LOVE the Kaboost!

noreen said...

My daughter doen't want to use the booster seat (I'm a big girl!) but is not big enough to use a seat without one. This would be perfect plus my kitchen would look nicer without that huge booster!!

Mia said...

This would be wonderful for my daughter so she can sit at the table (at the same height) for dinner with the family.

Thanks!

Allison said...

This would be a GREAT solution at the grandparents' houses! Great for travel!

MamaGames - Alexa C. said...

My 15 month old daughter really wants to be a part of our meals, and the high chair keeps her separate. A Kaboost would let her sit right at the table with us! Thanks for the contest.

Montserrat said...

I have the same problem as you do. With seven children in the house it's just unreasonable to have two high chairs but the booster seats are hard to clean. We have the youngest in a high chair and I feel so sorry for him because he sits away from the table and so it's like he's being kept apart from the family. Poor little guy! We could definitely use a Boost!

I want this for Grandmas and for travel! What a cool product

2migirlsmom said...

This would be great to take everywhere with you.

Becky said...

I was just telling my friend that I need a kaboost so I can get rid of my bulky, dirty high chair.

Maude Lynn said...

My daughter is at the "big girl" stage, but still needs a little boost at the table. Hopefully, a Kaboost would inspire her to (comfortably) be still at the table a little longer!

Bebemiqui said...

It would keep my son from standing up on his chair all the time.

Bree said...

My daughter would finally be able to eat off of our table. Right now she can just rest her chin on it!

Laura said...

We just moved into a beautiful old house. The previous owners did a great job of renovating the kitchen and then we uglified it by bringing in the heinous old yard sale chair that my daughter's booster sits on. The Kaboost would allow us to get a set of real chairs!

Anonymous said...

A Kaboost would make for a much more peaceful dinner time at our house! LOL! Thanks for the chance to win one!

My son hops on and off the chair so fast he doesn't even concentrate on eating! We need this so he can stay still and eat!

Sherry G said...

Hello,
I'd love to win because I've been dying to get a kaboost for my daughter who will be bumped from her highchair when her baby brother is born in June. It will be a solution for me to fit the whole family at the table, and will help make my daughter feel like a "big girl!"

moushka said...

I have the same booster seat and it gets really really yucky and fast! EWWWW! But that isn't the only problem. I have an antique table that has edges around the bottom so my daughter can't even get close enough to the table with the booster seat. The Kaboost would solve a huge problem for us.

Jenny said...

My son would actualy be able to sit at the regular table and eat a meal. I love this idea!

Hillary (Mrs. Einstein) said...

#2 is going to need a booster seat soon, so #1 is either going to have give hers up, or I'm going to need a Kaboost!

Heather said...

What a great idea! I would LOVE one of these for my "too old for a high chair to short for a regular chair" three year old!

Taryn said...

My son loves to sit on the 'big' chairs but has to stand or kneel to be able to do table activities. Some things just take up too much room to do in a high chair and I don't want potato head parts strewn all over the room. Kaboost would solve everything :)

Mommy Bee said...

My daughter would love to sit in a "big girl" chair, instead of a booster. This would make it all possible for her! What a great invention. Thanks for a chance to win!

Anonymous said...

I have to say I was so pleased to read your blog to know there are others out there whose houses look like mine, but I do not have 7 kids! Anyway, my two year old daughter would love this to be a "big girl" she is too big for the baby seat she tells us as her big sis gets a chair! Thanks again!
stbaisch[at]yahoo[dot]com

PS said...

I hate to say it, I would still use the booster, for my 1 year old. I'd put her at the table in that, and my shorty 2 year old son could have to Kaboost and feel like a big boy instead of having to use the booster seat!

Tarasview said...

Right now my daughter is sitting in one of those miserable clip-to-the-seat booster seats -just like the one in your pictures that keeps food under it. Icky. She would much rather sit in a big chair like her brothers but then she isn't tall enough to eat. A Kaboost would be AWESOME!

Not only would I not have to buy another high chair or booster seat, I love what you pointed out about crumbs not catching. That would be fabulous!

Andrea said...

A Kaboost? Well it would be SO perfect for my son! He's 1 1/2 and is still in his high chair, but I would LOVE to get that high chair outta our kitchen (it's taking up a lot of room!) and put him on a regular chair with one of these Kaboosts...they sound fabulous!!

andraya3 at yahoo dot com

Unknown said...

This would be great- to keep the dog from dumping the booster seat off the chair every day to investigate the said crumbs you describe- UGH and also a seat that would be more secure as I dont dare use the strappy kind as im afraid the dog woudl break them!

Heather said...

I would really love one of these for my "petite" 5 yr old who still is stuck in a booster

amida said...

This would be perfect for my teeny tiny kitchen/dining area. We have no room for highchairs and the booster does get pretty gross!

Anonymous said...

I would love to have this. My daughter loves to sits on the chair like a big girl and eat dinner with us but she is too small to sit flat. So she must sit on her knees, and also get up during dinner and run around. So this would be AWESOME to have.

Jen said...

This would keep my son from feeling like he needs to climb on the counter to retrieve his goodies since he would be boosted higher with the kaboost. he could reach more of what he wants on the counter - is that good or bad?

Uniquely Yours said...

OOOOOOOOOh please pick me. I need one sooooo bad. My daughter is driving me crazy she wants to sit at the big table and she's not tall enough so I'm constantly cleaning up a huge mess of food.

Jamie said...

My 2 year old would quit standing up in the chair and scaring me to death thinking she is going to fall on the hardwood floor...she thinks she is too big for a booster seat, so the fact that she would be sitting in a chair like a "big girl" but would be closer to the table would be perfect!

Anonymous said...

A kaboost would mean no more screaming fits when my two year old decided to have a meltdown because she's too big for her high chair - but too little for a regular chair. Thanks for the chance!

Julie said...

Now that is a great invention. I wonder why no one thought of that before?

Robinc said...

My little guy always wants to be like us. What a neat way to make him feel like a grown up. He will not need a booster seat and his chair will be like ours.

Anonymous said...

This would be perfect for our home.. will not have to sacrifice style for safety. Very good find!!!

Carina said...

We had those same plastic booster chairs and I hated trying to keep them clean. This looks like a fantastic idea!

Love these! And yippee for the new Fetch. :-)

stacey said...

I would definitely use this for our son when we go to visit other people and they don't have a high chair (who wants to lug theirs around anyways?). It would be so simple! I did love sitting on the Yellow Pages when I was a kid, but really, times have changed and it's a great thing people come up with such fun ideas like this to solve REAL problems. Hooray!

gjgille said...

This is soo handy!

Tania said...

Kaboost would be fabulous for when my friends and relatives little ones come to visit and want to sit at the grown-up table with us for dinner, etc. This would make things so much easier. Thanks for the great giveaway! Yay for the new Fetch too!

Jen said...

So my toddler is getting too big for her high chair and when she sits in a "big girl" chair, she has to kneel which eventually gets too uncomfortable. So she gets squirmy and "bam!" she's outta there! A Kaboost would most certainly at the very least keep her in her chair a little while longer!!! Got my fingers crossed!!

Anyone who has more than one kid knows that they all want everything the other ones have. My younger daughter is starting into this with full force, so being able to sit at the table like her older sister would just about knock her off her seat! haha...

I would love to give one to my year-old goddaughter. She is getting big for the highchair and would love to sit at the table with her sister and brothers!

Sassyfrazz said...

Thanks for the contest!
PS. your dining room looks nice! :)

I would love to win this. I don't have a little one yet (though I wish I did - see my blog for more info on that!), but I am always eager to start up my maybe-baby stash for the future. We live in a twin, so space is limited, thus we wouldn't really have room for a high chair when the time comes. This would be great!

This would give my 1 year old a place to sit this summer after she has to give up her highchair to the new baby. It would keep our chairs from getting worn where a booster seat would be.
Thanks for the chance to win!

I would love this so my dd2 wont have to sit on her knees every day to eat

justkc said...

That is so cool! My 3 year old is a little guy. A very independent little guy. A little guy who despite being small enough refuses to sit in a high chair or booster and who would blame him - he is 3! But reaching the table comfortably is hard and keeping him in his seat is nearly impossible. I would love to try a Kaboost to keep him up at the table, comfortable and safe.

ky2here said...

This would be perfect when my nephew Kalem visits. He's a stubborn one and doesn't like to sit still, this could help him be one of the adults.

Anonymous said...

My grandchildren visit frequently and this would be so handy. Easy to use and bringing them up to adult level.

silverbele said...

This chair is great for the children after they grow out of the highchair.

peg42 said...

This would be perfect because we go out often and often our son wants to sit in the adult chairs. This is perfect because it's easy to bring along and in addition it will make my son able to sit in an adult chair. Thanks for the great giveaway. This is a great idea.

Crystal said...

We're only weeks away from transitioning my daughter out of the high chair and into a booster. SHe's incredibly independent, and this would allow her to sit in the big chairs without needing a booster!

It would make my life easier!

Killlashandra said...

I've never heard of this before, it and looks like it work much better than a booster chair. We skipped the booster chair because keeping W.W. in the chair was a challenge at dinner anyway. This would certainly make dinner easier because he would be at the right height with the table and still be able to climb up and down.

Very cool!

I would love to win one of these to try it out. I run a small home child care and this would be absolutely perfect! If it works, I would buy several. Great concept!

Anonymous said...

Oh my gosh. I have four children and the youngest, 20 months is terribly upset that he is the only one who has to sit in a high chair. Which I hate horribly because of the lack of space we have in our dining room and of course the daily scrubbing down in the cracks and crevices from spilt food and drinks. What a pain! This would make him feel like a "big boy"! What a great idea!

Jodi said...

that thing is so cool! just saw a pic of one yesterday for the first time...what would it do for me??? oh it would wonderfully end the nightmare of crumbs under the booster seat....and even moreso, bc I have a little guy and a niece who are the same age, when she comes to visit, she ends up sitting in a bumbo much lower than the rest of us at the table...at least then we could abandon the bumbo and have one in the booster and one in the kaboost! Great giveaway...thanks for the chance!

Tammy said...

when my sister visits I have no where for my nephew to sit, as we don't have a little one around anymore.I'd really like him to be able to sit at the table with us in his own chair rather than either having my sister have to lug a booster with her all the time, or have him sitting on one of their laps. This way everyone could settle back and relas.

Unknown said...

This would be GREAT to have in our home. I have an 19 month old son who would love to eat at the table like a big boy. He's not impressed with his high chair these days so this would save a lot of headaches! :) What a great product!

Sometimes my 2 year old and 4 year old push the bar stools up to the table. They are too tall---and they swivel, so it's not a a great combination. This way the kiddos can feel like they are "big kids".

Unknown said...

This would be great. My 7 year old is very small for her age and doesn't want to sit in a booster seat because they are "babyish". She wouldn't mind this. If she could reach the table better she'd create less of a mess. Homeschooling would be easier too since she wouldn't be as wiggly sitting on her bottom instead of kneeling in her chair.

I would love one of these for my 2-year-old! She is constantly pushing her chair out from the table, which allows even more food to drop down on the floor and into her booster seat, which then becomes horribly grimy and hard to clean. Kids just want to be like their parents and with this they can feel like they're "big" like mommy and daddy. There's no tipping forward of the booster seat all the time when they're wiggling around. Great invention!

Well can we say that we have aleady gone through two highchairs in our family-bothof them broke- the first my husband, who really doesn't know his own strenght broke the tray and you know how easy it is to replace that thing... we searched so many yard sales--anyway-this would be perfect for our 3 (ages 2mo-5yrs) growing girls-who mostly sit on their knees at the table-that can't be comfortable can it??

Oh, I wish I knew about this when my kids were smaller! I could still use it for my 5 year old. She kneels when she eats.

This woul dbe great... my son does not like to sit in his high chair. He wants to sit at the table with us but it is dangerous because he is so small. This would allow me to boost him to sit at the table because he wouldnt stand on the chair.

I've tried to win Kaboosts before but no luck yet! Love the Chocolate one, my fav color. This product just seems like it would make life a lot easier where kids could just site and eat w/out a booster seat. Love that this is portable too!

I've seen the Kaboost in stores already and I really like it. I think it would help my little boy feel more grown up and included by being able to sit in the chair normally (albeit with Kaboost underneath!). I saw the green color in the store and was pleased to find out it comes in chocolate, too.

My chairs are a strange size so i think that instead of trying to use a chair that doesn't fit right, i could use this.

I have a large family, which includes toddlers and a newborn. I could certainly use this and I like the convenience of it.

My little cousin Miranda could use this! She's a short little tike, my whole family is short, and I'm sure she'd like to see over the table! ;)

My son will need this soon! He'll be ready to eat table food in a few months and that's where it all begins.
